Guild Wars speed clears explained

Speed clears are coordinated team runs built to complete a PvE objective quickly. The original article introduces the Underworld roles, team builds and timing habits that help groups farm valuable rewards efficiently.

THE IDEA

Speed clear means coordinated objectives, not random rushing.

A speed clear is a team build designed to finish a PvE objective quickly. In the Underworld, groups split jobs, avoid fights that do not advance the run and use repeatable skill timing to reach valuable rewards such as Ectoplasm, Ghastly Summoning Stones, Eternal Blades and other rare drops.

The best first step is to learn one role well. Treat the build below as a route map: communication, safe positioning and knowing when not to pull are just as important as damage.

WHY UWSC?

Fast clears turn teamwork into a repeatable reward loop.

Teams commonly divide into simultaneous jobs so the run stays profitable even after consumables. The Underworld is the classic item-reward example: the objective is not to defeat every enemy, but to complete the required quests and reach the reward path safely.

TEAM MAP

Know who owns each part of the run.

Start with the role that matches your experience.

T1 / T2 / T3

Ranger / Assassin
ROLE

Shadow Form, movement control and safe pulls. These runners handle the outer route and keep the team moving between objectives.

T4

Mesmer / Elementalist
ROLE

The control role uses earth and illusion tools to hold dangerous groups in place and keep spikes clean around the chamber and vale.

Spiker

Dervish
ROLE

High-pressure damage and fuse-pull support. The spiker helps collapse target groups before they can slow the rest of the party.

Emo

Elementalist / Monk
ROLE

The protective backbone: bonds, Infuse and energy management keep the main team alive and help set up the Dhuum finish.

ROUTE CHECKPOINTS

Four calls to make during an UWSC.

01

CHAMBER

Set QZ and EoE, buff the spiker and keep the first ball clean. Avoid unnecessary fights while the team establishes its rhythm.

02

LAB

Use the wall block for Terrorwebs when the group is experienced; otherwise separate the melee pressure before the spike.

03

VALE

Keep the route compact, protect the quest NPCs and communicate when the spiker or monk is splitting for a faster clear.

04

DHUUM

Prepare the summoning stone and bonds before the room starts. The stone must stay healthy so the glitch remains stable.

EMO SNAPSHOT

Protection is a timing job.

The E/Mo Emo keeps the main group alive with Balthazar's Spirit, Life Bond, Protective Bond and Infuse Health while managing Ether Renewal. Bond the right player at the right moment, stay outside interruption range and communicate before a teammate reaches danger.

QUICK QUESTIONS

Before joining your first clear

Do I need every role before I start?

No. Learn one role, save the build code and tell the team what you are comfortable doing. Clear communication is more useful than pretending to know a route.

Why do teams skip enemies?

Speed clears optimize the objective. Fighting is only worth the time when it unlocks a quest, protects the route or prevents a reset.

What should I bring?

Bring the agreed build, the required consumables and enough inventory space for the reward path. Dhuum roles also need the correct summoning stone and protection timing.
